This little guy is Jeremy.
I have one question…Could he be any cuter? Seriously.

His mom scheduled a shoot with me after seeing mini-session fliers I’d put out at Kaleb’s preschool.
I had a hard time narrowing down the photos from Jeremy’s session. There were so many good ones.
He has the cutest little smile. And he was having fun making me work for it. I made faces, funny sounds, I even did a little bit of peek-a-boo. What ended up working best was turning the camera around and letting Jeremy look at the pictures I’d taken.
I’m looking forward to being able to photograph Jeremy again in the future….
Mom – *hint, hint* ;o)

August 25th, 2010 · personal

My baby started kindergarten. *sigh*
On Monday morning, from the moment he hopped out of bed, Kaleb was humming with energy. On a normal day, he can barely sit still. This time, he was all but tap dancing through the house.
I knew Kaleb wouldn’t be clingy – he’s so fiercely independent that I wasn’t worried about him being one of the kids that scream and run after their parents once they’re out the door. I’ve been prepping myself for awhile now. No tears. Drop him off, a hug, a kiss on the cheek, “Mommy will see you after school” and leave. No lingering. No peeking through the window of the classroom.
What I wasn’t prepared for was to be cast off.
We crossed the street and started up the driveway to the school. Kaleb looks at me and says “Mommy, can you let go of my hand so I can walk by myself?”
What? No. I am Mommy. This is my right.
We get to the classroom and he’s off to find his cubby and desk, having completely forgotten about me. I find a chair in the back of the classroom with the other parents (we had to stay for a quick orientation). The kids are sitting on carpet squares at the front of the classroom, waiting for the teacher. Kaleb looks around, sees me sitting in the back and says “Mom, are you going to leave now?”
Doesn’t he understand that I’ve been waiting five years for this day? And he’s trying to kick me out?
Throughout the orientation, I can see him looking over his shoulder to see if I’m still sitting there. Once the teacher is done speaking and the kids go to their desks, I walk over to take some more pictures and get my goodbye kiss.
“Mom, you’re going home now, right?”
“Yes Kaleb. I’m going home.”
“Ok”
And that was that. Lol.

Yesterday afternoon, I held the first of my Summer’s End mini sessions.
I met up with the C boys, Jaydon and Jordon, and their mom at a nearby park. The boys were hilarious. Lots of energy. Funny faces. Silly noises. They reminded me alot of Kaleb. Definitely a fun way to spend the afternoon.
Mom, enjoy your sneak peek.

This last one is my favorite…
